Garcia, a member of Acoma Pueblo, recently accepted the position of General Manager at the Sky City Cultural Center and Haak’u Museum.  She will work with Randy Howarth, Operations Manager, to lead the staff of the Cultural Center and Museum toward achieving operational effectiveness and productivity.

COO of Acoma Business Enterprises Charles Schmidt said, “ABE is honored that Mrs. Garcia has accepted the challenges of running Sky City Cultural Center, she brings a vast knowledge of Acoma traditions and culture.”

Connie received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Arts degree from Northern Arizona University.  She married Morris Lowden in 2003 at a poolside ceremony conducted at the Sky City Casino.  Their blended family consists of 8 children, 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

The Pueblo of Acoma sits upon a 367-foot-high sandstone mesa and is the oldest continuously inhabited settlement in North America.  Sky City Cultural Center opened on May 26, 2006.  The new Center and Haak’u Museum is a 40,000-square-foot, world-class facility dedicated to the display and preservation of Acoma art, history and culture.  Both the Mission San Esteban del Rey Mission (1629) and the Pueblo are Registered National Historical Landmarks.
